CSH - CAN Steering Hub

HubRender_2

The CAN Steering Hub is intended for simplifying the addition of buttons, switches, dials & indicators to a steering wheel for motorsport applications.

Designed to fit within a standard aftermarket steering PCD, the CSH provides a discrete solution, without the need for large wire bundles. Combining up to 16 inputs and 6 outputs, the CSH communicates via CAN requiring only 4 wires to easily integrate with many aftermarket ECUs, dash displays & PDMs.

The board is available with a purpose-built housing that bolts onto a 6x70mm PCB wheel hub, adding only 10mm depth to the steering column.

The CSH is very flexible in terms of inputs, taking a combination of low-side digital inputs, 0-5V analogue inputs, and encoder counters. Each completely independent and without the need for any additional diodes / components.

The CSH is shipped with a standard configuration that would suit most applications, however for more complex setups the CSH can be programmed via CAN with multiple preconfigured formats for quick and easy integration with many common motorsport devices.

Rotary Encoder Dials

The CSH has built in capability to interface with rotary encoders, providing a counter output with configurable max / min limits, as well as direction.

LED Outputs

There are 6 LED outputs that can be configured to either high or low side output. Current limiting resistors are incorporated on the board, so LEDs can be wired in directly.

MoTeC Integration

The CSH can easily be integrated with MoTeC products that support E888/E816 integration. This makes setup very easy as everything can be done in one place.

Custom Applications

If the CSH doesn’t quite have the exact function, or communication format you are after, we are happy to look at custom applications. Just send us through an email with your request and we will do our best to find something that works for you.
